The perfect Knits for this summer!

When people think of knitted fabrics, they often imagine cozy scarves and thick sweaters. But knits are great for spring and summer too! In this blog, we’ll show you why.

Not Just Wool

Knitted fabrics aren’t only made from wool. Knitting is all about creating loops of yarn. This makes the fabric breathable, allowing air and water to pass through more easily than woven fabrics.

One of the most popular knitted fabrics is jersey. It’s everywhere in stores because it’s so versatile. The type of jersey depends on the yarn used. Cotton and wool jerseys are great for casual wear like T-shirts and dresses. Synthetic fibers like nylon or polyester work best for sportswear because they’re durable and wick away moisture. Sometimes, both natural and synthetic fibers are mixed to get the best of both worlds.

Our signature travel jersey is also a knit. It feels smooth and light, and is made from synthetic fibers like polyamide and elastane. It’s durable, breathable, and doesn’t wrinkle easily.

What About Wool?

If you love wool, you can still wear it in the summer! Cotton is popular in warm weather, but it absorbs moisture and can stick to your skin. Wool, on the other hand, wicks moisture away and keeps you cool and dry. There are many types of wool with different qualities; some are perfect for hot days, while others work well for unpredictable spring weather.

This year, luxurious wools are very popular, especially as the fashion industry becomes more focused on sustainability. High-quality knits last longer, so you buy fewer items, which is better for the environment. Plus, they can be recycled properly.

Alpaca wool is breathable and warm, making it great for spring. It’s strong and hypoallergenic, so it’s good for people with sensitive skin.

Merino wool is one of the softest sheep’s wools and doesn’t itch as much as regular wool. It’s lightweight, breathable, and less likely to pill, so it feels soft and smooth even after lots of wear.

Cashmere is the ultimate in luxury. It comes from the soft undercoat of the cashmere goat and is collected when the goat naturally sheds its winter coat. Cashmere is delicate, lightweight, and often used for sweaters. Air Cashmere is especially light and airy, perfect for summer.

The Perfect Fit

While the material is important, the shape of the clothing also matters. For example, a turtleneck with long sleeves might not be very comfortable in the summer, even if it’s made from a light material. A good design balances style and comfort.

Layering is a great way to handle changing spring weather. You can add or remove layers throughout the day. The Yara Top, for example, has half-length sleeves, so it works well in both warm and cool temperatures. The Sofya Top is sleeveless and lightweight, perfect for hot weather, but it also works well under a blazer for cooler days.

With the right materials and styles, knitted fabrics can be worn all year round. You can mix and match to handle the transitional seasons, or wear them on their own to stay cool and comfortable. Knits combine comfort and style, making them a great choice for any season!
